Dawn Dahilia Watson

January 31, 1969 - April 28, 2022

Dawn Dahlia Watson was born January 31, 1969 at Otis Air Force Base in Cape Cod, MA. Growing up in Pensacola, FL, she attended Sacred Heart Catholic School. From a young age, Dawn’s sweet demeanor shined. We like to say she was born in the North but she was full of Southern grace and hospitality. She loved many pets, including those rescued from the vet’s office where her mom worked. Dawn graduated in 1987 from Sprayberry High School, and went on to attend Young Harris College and then Kennesaw State University. She enjoyed working in ladies clothing at Sears for 7 years, then spent 21 years with The Home Depot. Her favorite place to work during her Home Depot years was running the register in Outside Gardening. During her life, she was a medical miracle, overcoming every obstacle that came her way with a steady resolution and a quick wit. She used her good sense of humor to make light of tough situations, especially when it involved her own health. Dawn also enjoyed 7 years of volunteering at Wellstar, in the maternity ward and at Atherton Assisted Living. Some of Dawn’s favorite memories were from traveling with friends and family. She enjoyed attending Fun Night at St. Joseph Catholic Church, and she was always game for a visit to Three-13 Salon for some pampering. She touched our lives in many ways. When faced with monumental challenges, she never backed down and never gave up, proving that she was stronger than anyone could ever anticipate. Words cannot accurately express how much we will miss her; but we find comfort knowing that she is whole and healthy, reunited with family members who proceeded her passing. We imagine she is catching up with all of her many pets from over the years. Please join the family at a Celebration of Life on Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 12-3pm at 4222 Homestead Place, Kennesaw, GA. A special prayer will be said at 2:00pm followed by a balloon release. Please wear something happy, as that is exactly how Dawn would have wanted it. We will have a food truck so kindly RSVP by 5/19/22 to [email protected] In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations are made in the name of Dawn Watson to St. Joseph Fun Night, care of St. Joseph Catholic Church 87 Lacy Street NW, Marietta, GA 30060
