Dorothy Alice Meek

July 9, 1926 - April 12, 2022

Dorothy "Dot" Alice Meek was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She passed away on April 12, 2022 at the age of 95. She was born in Fannin County, GA on July 9, 1926. She married the love of her life, Thomas Eugene Meek, on April 14,1946 and together they had two children, Larry and Jan. Dorothy loved spending time in the kitchen, cooking wonderful meals for her family. Countless birthdays, holidays and weeknight dinners were spent around her table enjoying the delicious meals she took such care and planning to prepare for those she loved. When she wasn't entertaining and cooking for her family, she treasured her travels to the mountains each fall to see the changing leaves and enjoy the mountain air. During the summer months she cherished the small rose garden her husband planted for her and she was so proud of the yellow, pink, and white fragrant blooms each year. Dorothy is predeceased by her loving husband of 64 years, Thomas Eugene Meek and survived by her son, Larry Meek and his wife, Vanessa of Cartersville, GA; daughter, Jan Boyles and her husband Chuck, of Marietta, GA ; grandchildren Lauren, and her husband Daniel Pike of Madison, GA, Whitney, and her husband Claiborne Hardeman of Madison, GA and Thomas Barber and his wife Tatum of Marietta, GA, as well as 4 great grandchildren, Elizabeth (9), William (5), Anna (4), and Bo (9 mos). The family would like to thank Homestead Hospice and her faithful caregiver Anthonia Madouker. A private graveside service will be held in the coming days.
