Dorothy M. (Dot) Trippeer passed away peacefully on May 5th, 2020 in Marietta, GA. She was 89 years old. She was born to Louise and Joseph Miller on January 3, 1931 in Winston-Salem, NC. She had one sister, Josephine M. (Jo) Dees. She married Allen R. Trippeer on September 27, 1953 at Christ Moravian Church in Winston-Salem, NC. They were married for 63+ years before his passing in June 2017. They moved to Marietta, Georgia in 1960 and raised 2 children – Patricia T. (Pattie) Gazaway and Allen R. Trippeer, Jr. She was a loving and supportive mother to Pattie and Allen and stayed at home with them until they were both in elementary school. She then shared her love for children as a Kindergarten and Pre-K teacher for many years. Her many talents included painting, cross stitching, gardening, and flower arranging. She and her husband enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. She was an avid reader to the very end. She and her husband were faithful members of Faith Lutheran Church, Kennesaw United Methodist, and Marietta First Methodist Church. She is a beloved mother to Pattie and Allen; mother-in-law to Micky Gazaway and Sherri Trippeer; grandmother to Amanda Long and her husband, Joseph; Katie Lindmark and her husband, Rob; Christopher Trippeer; Jamie Trippeer; and Andrew Trippeer; great grandmother to Tinsley and Charley Lindmark and Jacob Long. We all love her and greatly miss her. Her family is grateful for the staff and her many friends at Sterling Estates of West Cobb for their care and support of her for the last 3 years of her life. She greatly enjoyed participating in the many art classes and projects, holiday parties and theme nights, weekly happy hours and concerts, Bingo and Sunday Church Services. She loved her apartment with the patio to continue to enjoy her flowers and bird feeders and the beautiful view of the courtyard and colorful fountain. The immediate family will have a Graveside Service on Saturday, May 9th at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband. Her family would like to thank all of their friends and relatives for their prayers, love, and support during this difficult time. The family requests no flowers be sent but in honor of all Mothers this upcoming Mother’s Day, please make a contribution to the charity of your choice in her honor.
