James Comer Trapnell Jr.

James Comer Trapnell, Jr., 93 of Marietta, GA passed away January 4, 2022, after a long illness. He was born in Metter, GA, December 5, 1928, to Eula Mercer Trapnell and James Comer Trapnell, Sr. Jim attended public schools in Metter until his senior year of high school and graduated from Riverside Academy in Gainesville, GA. He graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Business degree. He was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. He retired from Lockheed Martin. He was a member of the Rotary Club of Marietta. Jim was a charter member of Johnson Ferry Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Judge James Comer Trapnell, Sr. and Eula Mercer Trapnell, his sister Jane Stanton (Ken) and her first husband Robert Dale. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Annie Sue Morris Trapnell, daughters Carol Smith (Brett) of Marietta, Janet Rushford (Yetta) of Potomac, MD and Mary Hulbert (Chip) of Charlotte, NC, nine grandchildren, Garrison Smith, Connor Smith, McKay Smith, Holly Smith Gilbert (Thomas), Graham Smith of Marietta, GA and Courtney Rushford Alexander (Charles) of Chicago, IL and 1LT Kyle Rushford United States Marine Corps, Ian Hulbert and Tristen Torres, Kingsport, TN and Caroline Hulbert, Charlotte, NC one great-grand daughter Khloe Hulbert Kingsport, TN and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service is January 31, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church with a reception following in the Magnolia Room. A private burial will be at the National Cemetery in Canton, GA at a time to be determined. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Rotary Club of Marietta, P. O.
