Mrs. Judy D. Williams lost her battle with COVID early Monday, January 25, 2021 surrounded by her family. Judy was a lifetime Resident of Cobb County where she graduated from Marietta High in 1963. In 1966, Judy found her life’s calling and started a job with Cobb County Planning and Zoning where she later retired after 32 years of service. After retiring and the passing of her husband, Jimmy Williams, Judy went back to work at Cobb County where she served on several boards and committees until her passing January 25, 2021.Working over the span of her career with builders, Architects, developers, and homeowners, Judy’s vision of Cobb County is still alive in places like Indian Hills, the first subdivision she ever signed off on. Judy was preceded in death by her Father, Jake Barmore; her mother, Dot Barmore; and sister, Sandra Smith. She is survived by her son, Keith Williams of Dallas Georgia; daughter-in law, Teresa Bartlett Williams of Dallas, Georgia; granddaughter, Amber Seaman Boyce of Dallas, Georgia; granddaughter, Emily Williams of Dallas, Georgia; great-grandson, Lucas Boyce; sister, Belinda Payton Buchanan of Georgia; cousin, Peggie Poss of Marietta, Georgia; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A private, family only, Memorial Service will be held for Judy on Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta, but will be livestreamed on our website.
