Laura Ann Nelson Langford

Mrs. Laura Ann Nelson Langford, of Blue Ridge, GA, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2021. Visitation will take place at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Chapel in Marietta GA on Monday, December 6, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. with a memorial service to follow at 11:30 a.m. Laura Ann was born to parents, Charles B. and Willie Grace Nelson on December 6,1930. She grew up in a family of six children and graduated from Marietta High School in 1948. In 1951, she married William V. Langford (Bill), also a Marietta native. After living in several cities in the southeast, they returned to Marietta in 1978 and moved to Blue Ridge in 2017. Laura Ann is survived by her husband of more than 70 years, William V. Langford of Blue Ridge, GA; son Mark William Langford and his wife, Jodi of Blue Ridge, GA, son David Nelson Langford and his wife Mary of Mineral Bluff, GA; her sisters, Helen June Nelson Carter and Mary Grace Nelson McCoy of Marietta, GA and two grandchildren, Taylor Langford Parker and her husband, Kody of Greenville SC and William Nelson Langford of Blue Ridge, GA. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles B. Nelson and Willie Grace Nelson, her brother, Charles Victor Nelson, and her sisters, Martha Jean Nelson Hicks, and Connie Nelson Whorton. Laura Ann was devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
