Leona Collins Beck of Marietta passed away Wednesday Jan 19th,2022. Leona was born in Blairsville, GA on March 23rd 1925 to Elsie and Vaughn Collins. She came to Marietta at age 17 in search of work to help her family back home. She spent her 1st night in Marietta at the Root House, now a historic landmark. She found work at Southern Bell Telephone Company and later retired from Delta Airlines. Among her many interests were travel and gardening. She was a long-time member of The Four Seasons Garden Club as well as Sister City International. She enjoyed traveling with her friends and family to many destinations around the world including Germany, France, Italy, England, Hawaii and more. Leona was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years James Austin Beck. Survived by son William Steven Beck and wife Claudia Mann Beck of Marietta, Daughter Claudia Beck Moleski and husband Kevin Moleski of Porter Texas, and Brother Claud Collins of Marietta. Grandchildren Bill and Ken Beck, Raeanna Kurtz and Stephanie Cervantes; great grandchildren Elizabeth, Austin, Ison Beck; Mikayla Kurtz and Isela Cervantes. A graveside service will be held at 2pm Tuesday, Jan 25th at Kennesaw Memorial Park 1306 Whitlock Ave NW Marietta, GA 30064 In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Arcturus Hospice Care at 3790 Holcomb Bridge Rd Suite 201 Peachtree Corners, GA 30092 Additional Information is available at www.MayesWardDobbins.com
