Linda Lee Boleyn Saye, 78, of Atlanta, passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2021. Linda Lee was born on Sept. 27, 1942, in Lynchburg, Va., to Rev. Dr. Charles W. Boleyn, a United Methodist Minister, and Mildred Dunwoody Boleyn. She attended public high schools in Atlanta, Milledgeville and Athens, Ga., graduating from Athens High School in 1959. She attended Young Harris College and received her A.A. Degree in 1961. Linda Lee graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.A. in English in 1963. She subsequently obtained her J.D. Degree from Atlanta Law School in 1981. Linda Lee's early career was spent working in an administrative capacity at Decatur First United Methodist Church in Decatur, Cokesbury United Methodist Church in Atlanta, and Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Decatur. The majority of Linda Lee's career was spent as an Executive Assistant for the Robert W. Woodruff Foundation, the Joseph B. Whitehead Foundation, the Lettie Pate Evans Foundation, and the Lettie Pate Whitehead Foundation, where she worked for 32 years. Throughout her life, Linda Lee was active in the United Methodist Church and was a dedicated member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church, where she served on numerous committees, including the Finance Committee and the Council on Ministries, taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, was a member of the bell choir and played both organ and piano. Linda Lee is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Chip and Amy Saye of Powder Springs, Ga., and Mark and Shari Saye of Jacksonville, Fla., and she was the proud grandmother of three granddaughters, Caroline Saye and Eryn and Brooke Saye. She is also survived by her three sisters, Kay Bray (Ralph) of Washington, Ga., and Susan Boleyn and Louise Sorrells (Bo) of Athens, Ga., and multiple nieces and nephews. A celebration of life service will be held at Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Decatur, Ga. on Thursday, July 29, 2021, at 11 a.m. A visitation will be held at the church prior to the service, beginning at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Traditional Music program at Oak Grove United Methodist Church, 1722 Oak Grove Rd., Decatur, Ga. 30033, or donate online at ogumc.org/donate.
