Michael "Mike" A. Mitchell

Michael “Mike” A. Mitchell, 58, of Lithia Springs, GA entered into rest on Sunday, February 6, 2022. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Historic Marietta Chapel with Rev. Joe Buckner officiating. Family has requested in lieu of flowers, that donations be made in Mike’s name to the charity of your choice. Mike is survived by his son, Prince L. Mitchell of Milwaukee, WI.; daughters, Maria A. Mitchell and Jessica A. Mitchell of Chicago, IL.; sisters, Maebell Gibbs of Jackson, MS, Jolene Evans of Park Forest, IL, LaVern Mitchell of Chicago, IL, Charlean Threet of Chicago, IL., Ester Deans of Chicago, IL and Willie Bea Kitchens of Gambrills, MD; brothers, Anane Nigritia of Chicago, IL, and James Mitchell of Chicago, IL; grandson, Emanuel Mitchell; granddaughters, Trinity Jones and Camille Baylock. Mike was born on Friday, May 17, 1963 in Chicago, IL. After graduating from Dunbar High School, he joined the United States Air Force and served proudly for over 8 years before being honorably discharged. His service did not end after his discharge. He went on to work in Federal service for 28 years as a Firefighter and became a lieutenant with Dobbins Airforce Base until his retirement. Mike enjoyed spending his free time with friends and family. He loved having parties, playing pool, playing dominos with Todd, EI, & G, but most of all he enjoyed cooking for his family. You always had a good time when Mike was around, and his family lovingly referred to him as the fun cool uncle. Everyone could always count on Mike, if you needed something he was always there to lend a helping hand. He was a loving father, grandfather, and brother, his enjoyment of life and loving presence will be greatly missed.
