Pauline “Polly” Carter, 98, of Marietta, GA, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 16, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family. A Memorial Service will be held in her honor on Sunday, May 22, 2022, at 3 o’clock at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Macland Chapel. Family has asked in lieu of flowers that donations be made in Polly’s name to Glaucoma Research Foundation at https://getinvolved.glaucoma.org/donate. Pauline is survived by her daughters, Jenny Watkins of Acworth, GA and Sue White & husband Buddy of Powder Springs, GA; sister, Betty Jo Kirby of Tennessee; 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband C.C. Carter; daughters, Mary Page & JoAnn Wilks; son Benjamin David Carter; and son-in-law, Jim Page. Pauline “Polly” Foster Carter was born on Tuesday, February 5, 1924, in Fannin County, GA to Joseph & Mary Foster. She married the love of her life, C.C. Carter and they had sixty wonderful years together. Polly had a personal relationship with God, and was a member of Autry Baptist Church in Acworth, GA for many years. Polly had to learn the importance of hard work at an early age, and she continued to be a hard worker throughout her life. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening, going for walks, or spending time on the beach. Polly was an amazing cook and took the time to make everything from scratch. She was a kind and gentle soul with a loving heart. Polly’s family was most important to her, and she always made sure they were taken care of. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her presence will be forever missed. A visitation will be held on Sunday, May 22, 2022, between the hours of 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Macland Chapel in Powder Springs, GA.
