Peggy Dover, 82, of Powder Springs, GA, passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, in Dallas, GA. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, between the hours of 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Macland Chapel. Family has asked in lieu of flowers that donations be made in Peggy’s name to 2022 Georgia 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer (ga2day.com) or visit https://itsthejourney.org/ Peggy is survived by her daughters, Vivian Smith of Dallas, GA, Tracy Mills & husband Dwayne of Powder Springs, GA, and Joy Brown of Lake Hartwell, GA. ; granddaughters, Kelli Doll & husband Marc of Canton, GA. and Kayla Smith of Dallas, GA. ; grandsons, Lucas Brown & wife Rachel of Wilsonville, AL. and Bobby Smith of Dallas, GA.; great-granddaughters, Leah Doll and Harper Grace Doll of Canton, GA. ; and soon to be newest arrival, great-grandson Fisher Brown of Wilsonville, AL. ; best friend of 78 years, Charlotte Lanier. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Wilbur Dover, son, Kenny Dover, and their loving companion and faithful dog, Ranger. Peggie Joyce Dover, was born Monday, February 15, 1940, to Paul & Louise Simpson on Atlanta, Georgia. She married the love of her life, Wilbur Grady Dover in 1955 and they had four children together. They settled into their family home in Powder Springs, Georgia in 1964 where they lived for 58 years. Peggy loved being a part of the Powder Springs community and raising her children here. She and the children spent many hours at the Powder Springs Ballpark while they were growing up. Peggy had a personal relationship with God, and she and Wilbur were members of the First Baptist Church of Powder Springs for many years. Peggy enjoyed watching all kinds of sports, but she was particularly fond of Georgia football. She had a love of horses and loved spending time taking care of and riding her horse Honey Gal whenever she could. Peggy’s greatest passion in life, however, was working out in her yard. Peggy had an eye for landscaping and a green thumb that allowed her to transform the saddest of plants into a thriving beauty. Peggy invested all her time into raising her family, she was a wonderful and loving mother that radiated a natural beauty. Her presence will be forever missed.
