March 1, 1937 - March 22, 2022

Samuel “Lamar” Crabbe, 85, of Powder Springs, GA, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, surrounded by his family at his home. A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, March 27, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Macland Chapel with Brother Bobby Wood officiating. He will be interred at Powder Springs Memorial Gardens following the service. Lamar is survived by his loving wife, Barbara “Bobbie” Crabbe of Powder Springs, GA; daughters, Pam Crabbe Dilbeck & husband Kenny of Powder Springs, GA, Kathie Crabbe Wilbanks & husband Clint of Cartersville, GA, & Kelly Crabbe McMillan & husband Del of Gulf Shores, AL; son, Marty Crabbe of White, GA; brother, Ray Crabbe of Dallas, GA; sister, Faye Bozeman & husband Earl of Dallas, GA,; grandsons, Tyler Dilbeck & wife Linsey, Cody Munn & wife Tricia, Kyle Munn, Heath Chatham, & Trey Crabbe; granddaughters, Katlin Stuart, Ally Vazquez & husband Ruben, Brittany McMillan, & Chloe McMillan; great-grandsons, Tucker Dilbeck, Oliver Stuart, Brody Stuart, John Taylor Roscoe, & Carter McClure; great-granddaughter, Charlotte Munn. He is preceded in death by five brothers, two sisters, and his grandson, Taylor McClure. Samuel “Lamar” Crabbe was born on Monday, March 1, 1937, in Rome, GA to Oscar & Leila Crabbe. He married the love of his life Barbara “Bobbie” Jean Adams and they had 62 wonderful years together. Lamar had a personal relationship with God and he & Barbara have been long time members of Pine Grove Baptist Church. Lamar was a hard-working man, spending a lifetime in construction as well as working his gardens. He was often referred to as “The Tomato Man” by many of his customers that visited his vegetable stand. Lamar was always active and loved spending time outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but his greatest passion in life was working in the garden. Lamar was a people person, and never met a stranger. He had a good sense of humor and was always good for a laugh. Lamar’s energy and loving presence will be greatly missed. A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2022, between the hours of 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM at Mayes Ward Dobbins Macland Chapel and on Sunday, March 27, 2022, between 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM.
