William Joel Carrington Jr.

July 19, 1958 - February 18, 2022

William Joel Carrington, Jr., 63, of Marietta, Georgia, passed away on February 18, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer. Bill was born on July 19, 1958, in Marietta, to Bill Carrington, Sr. and Beverly Carrington. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Allen and Jane Brown, Bill and Grace Carrington; mother, Beverly Carrington. He is survived by his wife, Cindy Carrington; son, Brady Carrington; father, Bill Carrington, Sr.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David and Debbi Dees; nephews, David Dees (Katie), and Jason Dees; niece, Jayne Simmons (Matt); four great-nephews; aunts, uncles, cousins, and many special friends. In 1981, Bill graduated from Georgia Southern University, where he met his wife, Cindy. They married the same year and celebrated their 40th anniversary last December. He was very successful in the foam fabrication industry for over 30 years. He and Cindy enjoyed several years of retirement, spending time at their home in Apalachicola, Florida. Bill was a devoted and loving husband, father, son, and friend. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed fishing, boating, hiking, and riding his bicycle and motorcycle. He found great joy in life’s simple pleasures, like cooking, listening to music, lunch dates with Cindy, and hanging out with the pets. Many looked to Bill for guidance and advice. His positive energy was contagious, as was his vibrant laugh and ever-present sense of humor. He will be dearly missed. A service to celebrate Bill’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Colorectal Cancer Alliance (www.ccalliance.org/?form=donate).
