Mr. Adam Christopher Lewald

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Adam Christopher Lewald; a cherished husband, amazing father, son, brother, uncle, son-in-law, and loyal friend. Adam was born on November 9, 1972. He was a warrior in every sense of the word, an incredible source of strength, a man of courage, and was immensely loved by his family and friends. Adam graduated from Thomas Edison State University where he obtained his Master’s degree. Adam proudly served eight years in the United States Navy and was a dedicated employee with Delta Air Lines for over 23 years. In 2023, Adam earned the highest honor at Delta as a Chairman’s Club Honoree. Adam loved fiercely and with his whole heart. He loved his family, friends, his Delta family, the Atlanta Braves, and his friends who were his chosen family. Adam leaves behind a legacy of love and an example of how to live life to the fullest. He was an inspiration to many people who watched his “never give up” attitude during his four-year cancer journey. In the end, grace and love won, not cancer. Adam is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Kimberly Shelton-Lewald, daughter Addison Caroline Lewald, his parents Tim and Anita Lewald, brother Patrick Lewald, in- laws Jimmy and Barbara Shelton, and Jimmie and Donna Edmundson, sister-in-laws Caroline Anderson (Walt), Allyson Mauzy (Matthew), and many wonderful friends whom he considered family. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Northwest Georgia Oncology Center and specifically Adam’s medical team (Dr. Raul Oyola, Kathleen, Jenny, Garrett), as well as Agape Hospice Care Group. His medical team gave him incredible strength and courage to battle this dreaded disease like a true warrior. A celebration of life will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at Mayes Ward Dobbins, 3940 Macland Road, Powder Springs, Georgia 30127. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00pm prior to the service. Adam’s legacy will live on through everyone who loved and cared for him.
