Bettye McIntosh Noto

Bettye McIntosh Noto departed this earthly life to be with the Lord, sweetly and peacefully in her sleep, on January 13, 2022. Bettye was born in Atlanta, Georgia on November 6, 1931. She had a lifelong love affair with Atlanta and a lifelong love affair with Georgia. The only child of Alvin M. McIntosh and Ruby Goodwin McIntosh, she grew up in historic West End and Cascade Beecher, attending Joe E. Brown Jr. High, Girls High and Commercial High Schools. After graduating Bettye attended Montreat College in Black Mountain, North Carolina. Bettye is survived by her beloved husband Lee Noto of 65 years. Lee, along with their children, Toni Noto, Ellen Noto, Angelia Seagroves (Dan) and Scott Noto (Kris) were all the joy of her life. She leaves behind much loved grandchildren Jonathan St. George (Jackie), Jake Whiddon, Ivy Whiddon, Jessica Hof (Justin), Steven Seagroves, Brandon Seagroves (Sarah), Nick Noto (Chelsea), Matthew Noto, and 6 great-grandchildren. Bettye also leaves behind her dear cousins Eddie Goodwin (Anita), Laverne Richardson and Wayne Pruitt. She is preceded in death by daughter Donna Ragan Heinrich and granddaughter Sarah Martin. She truly loved her husband, children, grand-children, great-grandchildren, cousins, and friends with all of her heart. Bettye and her husband Lee resided in Brandon, Florida for more than 30 years where they raised their family, operated their business, and raised and showed registered American Quarter Horses with much success. Bettye was the proud owner of “Misty Jacket” 1976 World Champion Western Riding Quarter Horse. In 1994 Bettye and Lee moved back to Georgia to live in Marietta where they were very active with many friends at the East Cobb Senior Center. Singing, ballroom dancing, bridge, books and flowers were her favorite pastimes. She loved going to the Senior Center on Fridays to listen to the band and hear the ‘Boys’ sing. Bettye also sang with Guys and Dolls Chorus which added so much joy to her life. Bettye and Lee attended Roswell Street Baptist church and lived her life praising and glorifying her Lord and Savior. Graveside service will be held at Marietta City Cemetery, 395 Powder Springs St., Marietta, Georgia 30064 on Wednesday, January 19th at 2:00 pm.
