Carol Suzanne Novik

With heavy hearts and great sorrow we announce that Carol (French) Novik was suddenly called back to heaven by our Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 22, 2023. Carol was born on October 10,1961 in Marietta, Georgia, and is survived by her devoted husband of nearly nineteen years, Alexei “Leo” Novik, and their fur babies Tucha, Natasha, and Cattee’ as well as her sisters Jeanne and Elspeth French. She was reunited for eternity with her parents Elizabeth Kimberly French and William French. Carol was raised in Marietta, Georgia, and attended Wheeler High School. Early on, her love of horses brought her to Rockridge stables where her interest in animal training was ignited. This led her to an exciting and far-flung career path that included training Lipizzan Stallions, tigers, and other animals at The Clyde Beatty Circus, Dixie Stampede, Big Apple Circus, Arabian Nights, and Medieval Times. After meeting her husband at Ringling Brother’s Barnum and Bailey Circus, they settled in Acworth, Georgia and she continued working with more domestic animals. She showed us all that she could train any creature, small or great, from chihuahua to Clydesdale. Carol was a happy, beautiful person. She cared selflessly for her family, friends, and animals. She demonstrated this by being everything to everyone, totally dependable and punctual, and going above and beyond whenever she saw a need. She took on challenges that made others balk. Her moral compass was unmatched. She cheerfully paid attention to others and had a positive impact on many lives. Carol was adept at noticing details and gifting the perfect thing to each blessed recipient of her consideration. Carol enjoyed gardening, improving, and designing creations. Her handwork brings joy: the signs she made, the macrame she engineered to serve niche purposes, and all the things she has painted illustrate her desire to manifest beauty. Her green thumb extended from the pots of tropical plants she cultivated to the arrangements at the entrance of Twin Pines and beyond. She learned to make her husband’s favorite dishes and enjoyed exploring new ideas and recipes to the delight of her loved ones. Through the food she prepared, we could taste her love for us. Carol was known for orchestrating legendary parties; her themed events were appreciated by those near and far. Everyone could count on Carol to ensure the holiday favorites were on the table and family traditions were upheld. Carol cared deeply for those around her, her thoughtfulness, consideration, positivity, and smile will forever be missed as we look to her example of how to continue until we meet again over the rainbow bridge.
