Leroy 'Lee' Thomas Noto

Lee Noto, 87, passed away peacefully to be with his Lord on Saturday, January 21, 2023. Lee was born in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi on August 11, 1935. He was the son of Sam and Lillian Noto also of Bay St. Louis and where he lived for twenty years. Lee is preceded in death by his wife Bettye McIntosh Noto, sisters Norma June Satras and Betty Ann Noto. Lee attended Saint Stanislas Catholic School, spending his senior year at Bay High in Bay St. Louis. In 1954 he traveled to Atlanta, Georgia where he was employed at the Lakewood Chevrolet Plant in Atlanta. There he met his future wife, Bettye McIntosh. They were married in 1956 at Main Street United Methodist Church in Bay St. Louis and were married for 65 years. Lee is survived by his daughters, Toni Ann Noto of Lakewood, CO, Lee Ellen Noto of St. Petersburg, FL Angelia McIntosh Seagroves of Bonita Springs, FL and son David Scott Noto of Brooksville, FL. Lee was a wonderful husband and father. He was an excellent provider and was always faithful, loving and kind and always there for his wife, children, and grandchildren. His much-loved grandchildren are Jonathan St. George (Jackie), Jake Whiddon, Ivy Whiddon, Jessica Hof (Justin), Brandon Seagroves (Sarah), Steven Seagroves, Nick Noto (Chelsea), and Matthew Noto and 6 great-grandchildren. Also remembered with much love is son-in-law Dan Seagroves and daughter-in-law Kris Noto. Lee and Bettye resided in Brandon, Florida for more than 30 years where they raised their family, operated his successful business, raised, and showed registered American Quarter Horses with much success. Their horses were State of Florida Champions as well as mare Misty Jacket being the 1976 World Champion Western Riding Mare. The family enjoyed traveling the country to shows in their RV as well as belong to trail riding club where they enjoyed many days of good company and beautiful surroundings. There are many homes in Brandon and Tampa, Florida which are a result of Lee’s excellent workmanship and talent. He was an excellent employer proving well for his employees. In 1994 he and Bettye retired to her hometown Atlanta, Georgia settling in Marietta where they were very active with many friends. Lee especially enjoyed his billiard club and bridge club. Lee had a happy and positive attitude enjoying life to the fullest. Lee and Bettye were ballroom dancers and had many friends at the East Cobb Senior Center where they spend many happy days. Lee, our Dad, will be missed more than words can say. A graveside service will be held at Marietta City Cemetery, 420 West Atlanta St SE, in Marietta, GA, Friday, February 3rd at 2:00 pm.
