Moises P. Belarmino

Moises Pineda Belarmino was born in Manila, Philippines on November 30, 1940 to Alfredo and Felicisima (Pineda). He lived his childhood and early adult years in the Philippines where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Textile Engineering at the Mapua Institute of Technology where he met his future wife Filipinas. Mr. Belarmino resided in the Philippines until he immigrated to the United States to Jersey City, NJ with his wife in 1971. They later relocated to Macon, Georgia where they raised their three children; Heloise Belarmino Jones (Marietta, GA), Victor Francis Belarmino (Burke, VA), and Michael Marcus Belarmino (Washington, DC) and where he lived most of his adult life until moving to Marietta, GA in 2017. While his children were in primary and secondary school, you could regularly find Mr. Belarmino at local courts playing tennis with them. Even after a long day of work, he tried to play a sport he had grown to love as much as he could. If he wasn’t on the tennis court, Mr. Belarmino was always ready to use his excellent artistic skills to help his kids on any given school project. Despite all that, he always found time to tend to the house and yard in Macon that he loved so much. As a day job, if you ever look at the zipper on your coat or pants and see the letters YKK, Mr. Belarmino dedicated his over 30 year career in textile engineering working for the global fastener company, helping to develop some of the innovative colors and fastening products you use today. He was an avid member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Macon, GA and was known throughout the church community volunteering as an usher and wherever he was needed. Upon moving to Marietta, GA in 2017 he then became a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Mr. Belarmino was a devout Catholic and his faith was evident in everything he did, and in the relationships he nurtured. He never hesitated to greet anyone with a warm handshake and even into his late years as medical visits started to stack up, he was always described as a very pleasant and gentle person by all the medical staff he encountered. He is preceded in death by his parents Alfredo and Felicisima (Pineda), and wife Filipinas (Sayson). He is survived by his three children; Heloise Belarmino Jones, Victor Francis Belarmino and his wife Judy, and Michael Marcus Belarmino and his wife Tammy and his six grandchildren; Kerrigan Elise Jones, Mackenzie Grayson Jones, Nicolas Akkadet Belarmino, Mateo Thanadet Belarmino, Gabriella Mei Belarmino, and James Sayson Belarmino along with four siblings; three brothers, Alfredo Pineda Belarmino, Jr., Leodegario Pineda Belarmino, Efren Pineda Belarmino, and sister Cecilia Santos and their families and numerous nieces and nephews. He never shied away from hard work, and made all the sacrifices necessary to ensure that his kids would have a better life. His smile and cheerful greetings will live forever in our hearts!
