Rebecca “Becky” Renee Ballentine, 69, of Acworth, GA, passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, in Marietta, GA with her family by her side. A Memorial Service will be held in her honor on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Harvest Baptist Church in Acworth, GA with Pastor Larry Wright officiating. Becky will be laid to rest with her husband Jerry at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA on Friday, May 5, 2023 at 9:00 AM. Family has asked in lieu of flowers that donations be made in Becky’s name to Harvest Baptist Church at https://onrealm.org/hbcga/-/form/give/default or send a check to Harvest Baptist Church 3460 Kellogg Creek Road, Acworth, GA 30102 Becky is survived by her sons, Jerry Eugene Ballentine & wife Kayce of Columbus, GA, and Robert Franklin Ballentine and fiancée Jenna of Canton, GA; brother, Robert Thamis Suggs of Winter Haven, FL; grandsons, Jerry Ballentine & Raylan Ballentine; granddaughter, Miller Ballentine; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Jerry Eugene Ballentine; and her parents, Robert Themis Suggs & Hazel Sorrells Suggs. Rebecca Renee Suggs was born on Sunday, April 25, 1954, in Atlanta, GA to Robert & Hazel Suggs. She married the love of her life and best friend, Jerry Eugene Ballentine on Sunday, February 17, 1974, and they had forty-seven wonderful years together. Becky had a close personal relationship with God and worshipped at Harvest Baptist Church in Acworth, GA. She also spent her time entertaining people and loved to clown around with everyone at the senior community center in Acworth. Becky loved spending her time doing crafts. Whether she was painting, making flower pens, or making bead jewelry she always found ways to express her creative side. Becky was also a bit of a wordsmith, if you ever needed to know how to spell a word, she was the first person you would ask. She expounded upon her love for words by also spending her time playing crosswords or writing poetry. Most of all, Becky loved cooking for her family and spending as much time as she could with her grandchildren. Becky had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to make everyone laugh. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her presence will be forever missed. The family would like to express their gratitude to Becky’s brother-in-law, Ed Ballentine, for all the love and kindness shown to Becky. We are so appreciative of everything Ed did for her to include shopping trips, taking her to doctor’s appointments as well as helping with small jobs around the house.
