Stanford "Stan" Dobbs

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Stanford “Stan” Dobbs. He was a man defined by his selflessness, his unwavering love for his family, and his passionate spirit. He was more than a father, a grandfather, and a husband; he was the rock, grounding and guiding those who loved him. A funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM prior to the service on Wednesday. Interment will follow the service at Macland Cemetery. He adored his daughter, Emma; son-in-law, Juan; and two grandchildren, Olivia and Logan, always putting their needs before his own. His beautiful love story, which began when he found the love of his life, Pat, provided him immense joy and fulfillment, bringing him an additional two daughters, Karen (Tim) and Jamie (Markus), and nine grandchildren: Aria, Tori, Patrick, Sean, Kileen, Amelia, Leo, Libby, and Ruby. His love knew no bounds. Stan graduated from Campbell High School in Smyrna, Georgia where he played baseball and trumpet in the band. His career settled at Toys “R” Us spanned over 30 years, where he touched the lives of his colleagues with his positive attitude and dedication, inspiring many. His passions were simple yet profound. He found peace on the water with a fishing rod in hand, joy in the melodies of his favorite music, relaxation on the golf course, and pride in his devotion to his country. Stan’s life was a testament to the beauty of simplicity and the power of love. He will be remembered not just for what he did, but for who he was—a kind, loving, and selfless soul with a great sense of humor who touched the hearts of everyone he met. He is predeceased by his parents, William Varner Dobbs and Roslyn May Dobbs. In lieu of flowers you might consider making a donation.
