Steven Harold Madsen

Steven Harold Madsen, 78, of Dallas, GA passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2024. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 18th at Mayes Ward Dobbins Funeral Home, Powder Springs Chapel. Interment will follow at Macland Cemetery. Mr. Madsen is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie Campbell Madsen; son, Michael Steven Madsen (Kari Madsen); daughter, Melissa Marie Becker (SGM Joseph Becker) and son, Scott Mackenzie Madsen (KellyAnn Madsen); grandchildren, Ashley Mellinger (Gary), Jamie Corrin Landress (Eric), Andrew Michael Madsen, Abigail Grace Madsen, Jackson Thomas Becker, Mackenzie Elizabeth Madsen, Nolan Scott Madsen and Alexa Marie Becker; great grandchildren, Brynley Jean Mellinger, Xander James Mellinger, Landon Tripp Mellinger, Hudson Keith Landress and Brantley Michael Landress; sister, Joy Ann Bowler (Ted Sr.). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and extended family. He was predeceased by his daughter, Mindy Marie Prati. If you asked him, Steve would tell you that he had it all, family! Although born in Minnesota, Steve spent most of his youth and young adult life in Southern California. It’s where he started and protected his family. Steve had a long and successful career of 40 plus years at Lockheed Martin, involved in projects like the P-3, C-5, Skunk Works, SR-71 Blackbird, C-130, F-22 Raptor and many more. Steve had an extraordinary love for family. It’s safe to say, that’s what people loved about him most. A better dad never walked the earth. When it came to wife, kids and grand babies, there was nothing he wouldn’t do to love them more! He never missed a practice, a game, a ceremony, an appointment, a meeting, a horse show, a track meet, a chance to play catch or the chance to help out the team coaching! He never missed a chance to track a stat on a spreadsheet or a time on the stop watch. Tracking the weather and rain along with rooting for SC Football were more of his favorite hobbies. FIGHT ON! In the early 2000’s, Steve and Bonnie purchased a condo in PCB. Man, did he love to sit on the balcony and watch the waves roll in … He also added a new stat to track, how many cars are in the parking lot at the condo? He finished out his life in North Georgia and will be missed forever and always. Here’s to you Steve. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
