Betty Cook Daniels

Betty C. Daniels of Smyrna, Georgia passed from this like into the next on August 11, 2022. Mrs. Daniels was born May 13, 1942 in her grandparent’s home in Lower Young Cane, Union County, Georgia to Quentin and Dolly Cook both of whom predeceased her. Her daughter Elisa D. Hix and brother Billy Joe Cook predeceased her as well. She leaves behind her husband of 60 years Harry G. Daniels, children Kevin Daniels and his wife Cathy, Heather Goins and her husband Drew, grandchildren Martha, Hannah and Grace Daniels, Rachal Hix, Kyle (Katie) and Sydney Goins. She also leaves behind her brother, Don (Opal) Cook. Mrs. Daniels dedicated her life to being a wife, mother, grandmother, primary caregiver, volunteer and friend to everyone within her circle of influence. She was always active in her children’s school activities including being a PTA room mom for 11 consecutive years at King Springs Elementary School. Also, she volunteered in the clinic at Griffin Middle School for several years. But she really enjoyed working with the Band Boosters at Campbell High School for 11 years most of those as the uniform chairperson. Her favorite part of all the volunteer activities was being able to encourage the children. She enabled and exhorted to the greatest extent possible all the children to perform at their highest level, not just her own. After her children grew up, became married and had their own children, she became an excellent grandmother to all six of her grandchildren being available to baby-sit or help out whenever needed. In her mother’s later years, she became primary caretaker to her mother even though her own health was not always the best. On top of all the activities mentioned earlier, she still manage to perform her role as my dad’s silent partner in the Kennesaw Dairy Queen for 27 years leading the financial side of their business. The family will receive friends at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Historic Chapel in Marietta, Georgia on Tuesday, August 16th from 12 pm to 2 pm with the service to begin immediately afterwards at 2 pm with Rev. Samuel Manus officiating. A procession to the cemetery and graveside service will follow at Georgia Memorial Park, In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Confidence United Methodist Church Cemetery fund.
