Bluford Edward Dyer

Bluford Edward Dyer died September 28, 2019 with his family by his side at Kennesaw Place Assisted Living in Kennesaw, GA. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday in the Chapel of Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta. Interment will take place after the service at Kennesaw Memorial Park. He was born on June 15, 1925 in Blairsville, GA and moved to Dalton, GA in 1942 where he met his Wife of 61 years, Zella Marie Faith who preceded him in death on November 19, 2003. He was a decorated WWII Veteran, serving in Normandy, Belgium and Germany in 1944 -1945. He was awarded 2 Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. He was a Patriot and honored to serve and fight for our freedom. After the War he worked in the Textile Industry for more than 50 years. His favorite hobby was gardening and spoiled his family and friends with fresh vegetables every summer. He was a loyal member of the Mableton Moose Lodge for over 30 years receiving their highest honor, the Pilgrim Degree, in 2002. His love for family was unconditional and everlasting and he leaves behind a legacy of patriotism, strong work ethic and faith and conviction for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He is now reunited with his Wife, other family members and friends. Survivors include daughter, Paula Kearns Davis; sons, Edward Leon Dyer, Thomas Joseph Dyer and his wife Vicki, Terry Newton Dyer and his wife Mary; grandchildren, Robert Malone and his wife Lori, Ryan Kearns, Cristy Coffey and her husband Bryan, Lisa Ficalore and her husband Shane, Jason Dyer and his wife Leighann, Mandi Charles and her husband Ben, Jim and Tim Hamby; great grandchildren, Jarek Campbell, Coran Coffey, Alexis Bagley, Caleb Dyer, Chandler Bagley, Emma and Will Charles, Josiah, Abigale, Karley, and Konnor Hamby. A very special thanks from his Family to the Staff at Kennesaw Place Assisted Living and Regency Hospice for taking excellent care of him and the support you provided.
