Carol Cole Thomason, 66, of Powder Springs, GA passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at her home. A Funeral Service will be held in her honor on Friday, January 6, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Mayes Ward Dobbins Macland Chapel with Rev. Alan Davis officiating. Family will receive visitors on Thursday, January 5, 2023 between the hours of 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Macland Chapel in Powder Springs Georgia. Carol will be laid to rest at Powder Springs City Cemetery following the service. Family has asked in lieu of flowers that donations be made in memory of Carol to Shriner’s Hospital for Children at www.donate.lovetotherescue.org Carol is survived by her loving husband Samuel L. Thomason of Powder Springs, GA; sons, Michael Lee Thomason of Powder Springs, GA & Jason Paul Thomason of Powder Springs, GA; sister, Brenda Cole Howard & husband Niles of Marietta, GA; grandson, Morgan Thomason; and granddaughter Zoe Thomason. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jake & Estelle Cole. Carol Ann Cole Thomason was born Friday, September 14, 1956, in Atlanta, Georgia to Jake & Estelle Cole. She married the love of her life Samuel “Sam” Thomason on her 18th birthday and they had 48 wonderful years together. They had two sons, Michael & Jason whom she took great pride in raising. Carol had a close personal relationship with God and was a member of Powder Springs First Baptist Church for many years. Carol took pride in being a wife and mother, but also worked for the family business, Thomason Grading as a bookkeeper. Carol was a talented seamstress and baker, she would often make wedding and birthday cakes for people as well as dresses and other clothing. Carol had a sweet caring nature and surrounded herself with many friends. Many of whom she had made when she was a young girl. Her family was very important to her and she loved being able to spend time with her grandchildren. Carol was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
