Charlene Nordholz

Charlene Marie Nordholz, 65, of Powder Springs passed away Monday, October 10, 2011. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 13 from 5-8 p.m. at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta. Funeral service also to take place at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 14, with Father Adrian Pleus officiating. Burial will follow at Midway Cemetery. Mrs. Nordholz was born on April 17, 1946, in Clarksville, Arkansas and has been living in Powder Springs for the last 39 years. She was the daughter of the late Charles W. Stebbins and Nadine M. Stebbins of Marietta, Georgia. Charlene graduated from Marietta High School in 1964. Charlene was employed by Allstate Insurance Company where she worked in commercial customer service. Charlene met Bill Nordholz in 1971 and married in April of 1972. She retired from Allstate in 2008 after dedicating 42 years of service. Charlene loved to spend time with her family and friends. She loved traveling and staying on the go whether it was close to home or to faraway places. Her last trip out of the country was in 2009 when she visited her sister, Ellen, in Qatar where she cherished every minute spending time with her sister and her family. She was an avid garage-sale shopper and everyone benefitted from her bargain buys, both friends and family alike. She was so generous and giving to so many people, she would have done anything for most, often putting others first before herself. What she will miss the most is seeing her grandchildren and nieces grow up and graduate from high school/college and the annual trips to Florida with her girlfriends. She was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. Survivors include daughter and son in-law, Patricia and Coley Adair; son and daughter in-law, Charles and Sandi Nordholz; son and daughter in-law Von and Starrlyn Nordholz, sister and brother in-law Ellen Stebbins and Peter Goodwin, brother in-law and sister in-law Mike and Beverly Nordholz; four grandchildren, Carli Nordholz, Sam Adair, Chuck Nordholz, Kevin Harden; great-grand daughter Isabella Harden; nephews Kris and Kary Nordholz, nieces Catherine Stebbins and Rebecca Goodwin. Charlene leaves a legacy of love and kindness that will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She was dearly loved by many and will be deeply missed by all.
