Charles Michael Rehg

Mike on Pike’s Peak, at the edge and looking out at the world. This photo represents his view of life. Mike believed that you should not let the past hold you and that each day began anew. He showed his love to those around him by encouraging them to dream big and bring those dreams to reality. Though his presence will be missed, we can celebrate his life by continuing to dream big. Charles Michael Rehg, born to Leonard and Josephine Rehg in Kirkwood, Missouri, as the youngest of the Rehg’s four children. Charles (Mike) Rehg is survived by his wife of 48 years, Barbara Rehg, his two daughters, Jennifer Rehg and Kate Rehg, his sister Mary Jo Stroh, and his older brother Tom Rehg. After graduating with a degree in history from St. Louis University he went on to pursue an MBA from Washington University. Before completion he joined the Navy where he implemented their very first inventory system. After Mike completed his service he returned to school to complete his MBA and applied his strong analytics skills working as a CPA and CFO for various firms. Mike was a consummate entrepreneur and a creative soul. He left the corporate world to start his own business and grew a small franchised printing company into a successful commercial printing company that he owned for more than 30 years. He never stopped building, and helped many of those around him grow successful companies as well. Mike never stopped learning and tackling new challenges in life. After retiring from his business in Atlanta, he lived part time in Colorado where he constantly hiked with his beloved German Shepard Kai and learned how to snow board for his 70th birthday. While his passing is a loss to those who loved him, we can be consoled in the knowledge that his life was full and active to the end, just as he desired it to be. Re: Donations in Mike’s Honor Dr. Shishir Maithel, Mike’s Pancreatic Cancer surgeon, was nothing less than spectacular. When COVID19 attacked Mike’s recovering body, it was Dr. Maithel who kept the family apprised of Mike’s condition every day. His compassion and persistent care on Mike’s behalf brought great comfort to our family. He went above and beyond even as he was no longer the primary physician. When it was obvious Michael would not live, he made sure that Barb and Kate got to say goodbye to Mike at his bedside.
