Darryl O. Parham

Darryl O’Brien Parham has gone home to be with the Lord. He passed away unexpectedly, but quietly, on the morning of September 26, 2022, in his home. Darryl was 60 years old. A Funeral service will be held in his honor on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at 11:00am; at Linked Up Church in Powder Springs, GA with Minister Russell Williams officiating. Darryl joins his mother, Alice Parham and sister Michelle Parham, in Heaven, where they are sure to be enjoying worship service with all the saints. He is survived by his loving wife, Pamela Parham of Powder Springs, GA, son’s Kareem Walston of Powder Springs, GA, and Cornelius Walston of Jacksonville, FL, daughter Michelle Demmerelle of Dallas, GA, father Bobby Parham of Martinez, GA, sisters Armechia White of Tucker, GA, and April Parham of Augusta, GA, grandsons Joshua Walston and Royce Walston, granddaughters Amelia Walston and Chloe’ Davis, mother-in-law, Constance Elow, sister-in-law’s Denise Robinson, and Sharon Bartell, brother-in-law, David Robinson, as well as numerous family, friends, saints in Christ, & co-workers; and his faithful companions and favorite dogs, Vic Parham & Cocoa Chanel Demmerelle. Darryl was born to Bobby and Alice Parham on October 2, 1961, in Augusta Georgia. He grew up around the world due to his father being in the military; and as a result, was able to visit the Holy Lands where he was baptized in the Jordan river. Darryl attended Glenn Hills High School in Augusta Georgia; and Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA graduating with his bachelor’s degree in accounting. Darryl worked at Northlake Mall as the Assistant Mall Manager where he met his soulmate, Pamela Elow in 1994. They were married on August 5, 1995 and were blessed to have in their family two sons and one daughter. They resided in Powder Springs, Ga, where they actively volunteered in the community and focused their love and attention on raising their family. Deeply in love and inseparable, they would actively seek out adventures and looked forward to a long and happy life together. They had twenty-seven wonderful years. In addition to being a dedicated, loving husband & father, Darryl worked as a Project Manager for the Federal Government. He was always known for going the extra mile for customers and co-workers, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Darryl, who was lovingly referred to as “PDogg” also loved music, specifically playing the drums and bass guitar; he was an excellent drummer. He contributed his talents to several churches as a part of the worship team; and never missed a chance to invite fellow musicians’ home to play together when he could. He even took time to teach his wife to play so they could enjoy spending time together; she played drums (a little) while he played the bass. Darryl was also an avid golfer, he loved to play whenever he could; he always took his clubs on vacation, it was therapy and quiet time for him. When he wasn’t reading, playing drums or golfing, he was watching football. It did not matter if it were high school, college, or professional football, Darryl could be found watching the game, especially if the Seahawks were playing. Of all these things Darryl liked to do, nothing was more important to him than spending time with his family. Whether it was spending time with his children, grandchildren or just a quiet evening with his wife, these were the moments that made Darryl genuinely happy. Darryl had a personal relationship with Jesus and an unwavering faith, his faith only grew stronger in his ladder years of life. He and Pam worshipped for many years at Trinity Chapel Church of God; before relocating to their current church home at LinkedUp Church for the past 5 years. Darryl loved reading the word of God and conversing with his dad about the scriptures each day. Their “Spiritual Motto” for us all was showing Love, Wisdom, Discipline and Obedience, inspired from the following Scriptures; (Proverbs 3:5-6, Matthew 5:16) “Trust God and lean not to your own understanding, but in all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct thy path”; “Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, that God will be Glorified”. He shared his faith with anyone he encountered and especially with young men he mentored and the elderly he would help with DIY projects around their homes. Darryl was loved by so many and he left a positive impression wherever he went. Everyone who knew Darryl felt he was a fun-loving man with a “big” heart and giving nature. His positive outlook, generous spirit, and kind heart were always on display. He never met a stranger that didn't quickly become a friend; he always went out of his way to help anyone in need and had an incredible work ethic that will forever be remembered. He served as the project manager for the Butler Baker Alumni Inc. High School Restoration project in Eatonton. This was a personal honor since both his father and mother attended school there. He really enjoyed helping in the community. Darryl showed up when it mattered, had your back, gave to those in need, and would defend and stand up for his loved ones should the need for it arise. He kept us safe. Darryl worked hard and loved big; his presence will be forever missed. The family would like to extend a personal thank you and express our appreciation to all of you for your warm, loving, kind gestures, and expression of Condolences! These gestures will follow us deep into the future”. AMEN. A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2022, between the hours of 10:15am – 11:00am at Linked Up Church in Powder Springs, GA.
