Donald Eaiken Webb

Donald Eaiken Webb, 73, of Powder Springs, died Saturday, January 12, 2013, at Tranquility hospice at Wellstar Cobb Hospital with his wife and daughter by his side. Born December 10, 1939, in Rocky Point, NC, he was the son of the late Samuel Willis Webb and Pauline Dusenbury Webb. He was a graduate of San Jose State University with dual degrees in electrical and mechanical engineering. Don had an unprecedented, successful career in technical sales for nearly 40 years with Industrial Dynamics/filtec headquartered in Torrance, CA. Filtec was founded in 1958 and has been a key innovator in the field of inspection and laser coding equipment. Don had been the Southeast Regional sales manager for the past 30 years. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Marc Lee Webb, his brothers, Earl Hampton Webb, James Edward Webb, and Samuel Dusenbury Webb, and sister Mary Ellen Parish. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Nancy Beckett Webb; his daughters, Donna Webb Arredondo and her husband, Armando, of Alpharetta, GA; and Brooke Webb Smith and her husband Randy, of Marietta, GA.; grandchildren, Alexa Lee Arredondo, Brock William Hepler, Beau Ashton Hepler, Aubrey Lee Webb, Rhett Alexander Smith, and Jackson Draper Smith; sisters, Myrtle Bauguess of Wilmington, NC, Martha Ray Frye of Conover, NC, and Sheila Bell of Claremont, NC; brothers, Douglas "Pete" Webb of Conover, NC, Roland Webb of Birmingham, AL, and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Friday, January 18th from 6pm to 8pm at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home, Macland Chapel, in Powder Springs, GA. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Saturday, January 19th at McEachern Memorial United Methodist Church, at 11:00am with the Rev. Brian Tillman officiating. A reception will immediately follow for friends and family at the church. Don loved and cherished his family. He valued and enjoyed his work and always gave back to his community. He was loved and respected by everyone he touched. Don’s generosity and hard work were unmatched; as well as his passion for sports, especially his love for University of Georgia football and Atlanta Braves baseball. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the McEachern Memorial United Methodist Church Youth Department at 4075 Macland Rd., Powder Springs, GA 30127 or the American Diabetes Association. The Webb family has entrusted arrangements to Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home and Crematory, Macland Chapel, in Powder Springs.
