E.B. Pulley

Edgar B. (E.B.) Pulley, Sr., 77, went Home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 5, 2016 at Tranquility Hospice in Marietta, Georgia surrounded by his family. E.B. was born October 11, 1938 in Zebulon, North Carolina to James A. Pulley and Lala Williams Pulley. He was a 1957 graduate of Wakelon High School. He served in North Carolina National Guard for eight years. He went on to have a couple of jobs before entering into the plumbing industry. He worked at Noland Company and then Standard Supply Company in Raleigh, N.C. for many years. While with Standard Supply, E.B. advanced to Regional Manager. He then began his own manufacturers’ rep agency in 1977 in Marietta, Georgia with Delta Faucet Company as his exclusive manufacturer. He went on to add many more plumbing related lines as he built a very successful business. His success came from the relationships he established with his customers and his desire to go the extra mile for them. Pulley and Associates went from two employees to over twenty employees, covering two states. His greatest joy was when his three sons joined the business. The Church has been a large part of E.B.’s life. He has always been actively involved wherever he was attending. He served on many committees, was a deacon, taught Sunday School, provided leadership and was a faithful steward. He served as the founding Chairman of the Board of Directors of North Metro Church where he was currently a member. He was also one of the smiling faces that greeted people at the door. He has co-led a Life Group for many years where very close friendships were developed. E.B. was an avid gardener. He was passionate about his flowers and vegetable garden. He passed on his skills to his family and many others. He was always willing to help anyone with their yard. He had a love for the mountains and spent as much time there as possible. In his retirement years, he and his wife have enjoyed traveling and seeing the world. E.B.’s family was the most important thing to him. He loved big family gatherings and spending time with his family. He always enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s activities. One of his greatest pleasures was seeing a number of his grandchildren be baptized. A spiritual legacy was of great importance to him. E.B. had a genuine love for people. He truly never met a stranger. He had a sincere way of making everyone feel special. He was a mentor to many and changed many lives for the better. His biggest passion was his love for Christ, and the way he lived showed that love. E.B. is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Rogers Pulley, to whom he was married for over 55 years; three sons, Eddie and his wife, Diane, Charlie and his wife, Leslie, and Steve and his wife, Megan all of Marietta, Georgia; eight grandchildren, Trey, Sarah, Addison, Grant, Hannah, Amelia, Caroline and Olivia; one great-grandson, Mason; sister, Bessie Speck of Knightdale, NC; brother, Allen Pulley and his wife, Jackie of Clayton, NC; sister-in-law, Ruth Pulley of Knightdale, NC; brother-in-law, Charles Jones of Raleigh, NC; many nieces, nephews and life-long friends. The family will receive friends 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 12th at North Metro Church in Marietta, Georgia. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, February 13th at 11:00 a.m. also at North Metro Church.
