Emma Lee Cook

Emma Lee Hadaway Worley Cook, age 94 of Marietta passed away peacefully with family present on November 8, 2008. She was a beloved wife, mother, neighbor, and friend to many. She never met a stranger and loved all children. She was known for her kindness and thoughtfulness to everyone who knew her. Her life reflected her love for Christ and she was active in Sunday School at the First Baptist Church where she raised her children. Her community leadership included working with Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and PTA. She was co- owner of Thurston Worley Insurance Agency; and served as a member, officer, and on the board of directors for the Marietta-Cobb County Altrusa Club. Emma Lee was preceded in death by husband, Thurston L. Worley. Also preceded in death by husband, Fred E. Cook Jr.; father, Benjamin Earl Hadaway; and mother, Nola Theadosia Hadaway; brothers and sisters: Edith Hadaway Chaffin, Chloe Hadaway White, John Hadaway, Morgan Hadaway, and Mixon Hadaway. She is survived by children: Sarah Worley Loechler, David Worley, Barbara Worley Clark, Anne Cook James and Fred E. Cook, III; seven grandchildren: Jonathon Worley, Rob Barnes, Lori Klongtruatroke, Brian Cook, Christina Wolfe, Jeff Clark and Jason Clark; seven great-grandchildren: Ian and Taylor Klongtruatroke, Kane and Kadence Barnes, Connor Wolfe, and Alexander and Veronica Emma Lee Clark. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home, Marietta, Georgia. Graveside service will be Thursday, November 13, at 11 a.m., Mountain View Cemetery, Marietta, Georgia. If there is inclement weather, instead of the graveside service, there will be a chapel service at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home. If there is a chapel service, the internment will immediately follow that service.
