Frederick M. Seidell III

Frederick M. Seidell III, 67, passed away on April 29, 2015. A funeral service will be held at Mt. Paran North Church of God on Monday, May 4th at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Mark Walker officiating. The interment will follow at Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Seidell is survived by his wife, Gail Seidell, son, Nicholas M. Seidell and his wife, Cristine, two daughters, Stefanie Venable and her husband Jason; Janice Overbeck and her husband, Gunar, eight grandchildren, Emily, Aiden, Ellis, Jonah, Ryleigh, Chandley, Kylie and Josie Jane. He is also survived by many loving extended family members. Fred was born November 5, 1947 in Indianapolis, IN, the first of six children born to Frederick M. Seidell, Jr. and Bernice Williams Seidell. Surviving siblings are Nancy Seidell Schwoerer, Judi Seidell, Suzy Seidell Goldman, Tom Seidell and Mary Seidell Helmer. Fred was baptized at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Indianapolis. He attended Catholic Elementary Schools in Omaha, Baltimore, and Orlando. He graduated from Edgewater High School, Orlando, in 1966. Upon graduation, Fred enlisted as an Airman in the U.S. Air Force. He went through Basic Training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. He went from there to Chanute AFB in Champaign County, Illinois, and trained as an Aircraft Pneudraulic Repairman-Technician. Upon completion of this training, he was assigned to Hahn Air Base in Germany. Fred enrolled in College when he was discharged from the U.S. Air Force. He graduated from the University of Florida, with a Bachelor of Building Construction. After college, Fred accepted a position with Factory Mutual Engineering in Atlanta. He remained with them for several years leaving to accept a position on the construction of the new Atlanta airport. After the Airport was completed, he began employment at Boyken & Associates as a Cost Engineer where he worked for many years. He was also employed at Beers Construction on several large projects, The Haskell Company, Jacksonville, FL and worked a few government contract assignments prior to retiring. During his working years, he attended Keller Graduate School of Management and received a Master’s in Project Management. Fred was a member of the American Association of Cost Engineers (AACE) and he was a Certified Cost Consultant (CCC). Fred was very passionate about his hobbies throughout his life. He was quite the mechanic and enjoyed drag racing in his early adulthood. Fred was an avid golfer! Fred was known to play golf at every opportunity. He made a hole in one back in1964 at Dubsdread Country Club on the 9th hole, par 3. Fred also loved football, GO GATORS and GO FALCONS! On May 13, 2013, Fred was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). He was cared for by his wife, Gail, until he lost the battle on April 29, 2015. Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 3rd from 5:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
