Glenn Charles Thornton, 59, of MacClenny, FL formerly of Dallas, GA, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2022. A Funeral Service will be held in his honor on Tuesday, November 1, 2022, at 1:30 PM at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Macland Chapel. He will be interred at Kennesaw memorial park Cemetery immediately following the service. The family kindly asks in lieu of flowers that donations be made in Glenn’s name to The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention at afsp.org/ or to Hidden Battles Foundation at hiddenbattlesfoundation.org/ . Glenn is survived by his daughters, Stephanie Reyes and partner Rick Mehrabian of Marietta, GA and Kristy Buckle & husband Mike of Canton, GA; son Richard Reyes of Dallas, GA; father, John Thornton & wife Martha of Milner, GA; brothers, Johnny Thornton of Jasper, GA and Chris Thornton & wife LaRea of Peachtree City, GA; granddaughters, Morgan Webb of Duluth, GA, Mia Mehrabian of Marietta, GA, and McKenzie Buckle of Canton, GA; grandsons, Michael Buckle of Canton, GA, Caden Bloom of Marietta, GA, Maddox Buckle of Canton, GA. and Cameron Mehrabian of Marietta, GA. He was preceded in death by his son, Joshua Thornton and his mother, Connie Thornton. Glenn Charles Thornton was born on Sunday, December 23, 1962 in Griffin, GA, to John & Connie Thornton. He graduated in 1981 from Fayette County High School in Fayetteville, Georgia. After graduation he went on to serve his country proudly in the United States Army and after 4 years of service he received an honorable discharge. Glenn worked for 19 years as the VP of his family's business Diversified Electronics. He then went on to work for The United States Department of Veterans Affairs as a Peer Support Specialist and has touched the lives of so many for the last 10 years. His work with veterans was always very important to him. If he was spending time outside he particularly loved golfing, fishing, and going to the beach. He had a love for watching movies, the History Channel, and he loved listening to music. Some of his all time favorites were Paul McCartney & Wings and Van Halen. He was an avid fan of sports and loved to watch The Atlanta Braves, NASCAR races, and football. He loved Jesus and his family with all of his heart and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. What mattered most to Glenn, however, was his family. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren whenever he could. He was a loving father and grandfather, and his presence will be forever missed. The Thornton family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 between the hours of 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Macland Chapel.
