Harold Hayward Buchanan

Harold H. Buchanan, age 82, of Bethlehem, Ga Passed away Tuesday night surrounded by his family and friends. Harold will be remembered for his love of God, his family and helping his fellow mankind. Harold served in the 7th Infantry division during the Korean War. He was a communications specialist in a rocket/artillery battalion. Harold was born July 29, 1936 in Padena, Ga which was renamed to Morganton,Ga. He was preceded in death by his wife Alice Sue Buchanan and Jeanne Hines Buchanan, his father, Clyde Cecil Buchanan, his mother, Alma G. Pruitt Buchanan, a brother, Danny R. Buchanan, sister and brother-in-law, Sybil M. and Haskel Tipton, brother, James G. Buchanan , brother , Cecil Buchanan, brother ,Gary Buchanan , his Sister and brother-in-law , Shirley and Evan Seabolt. A new chapter began in his life by marrying Brenda Buchanan. The key to their precious marriage was the love they shared for Jesus Christ. Harold is survived by his beloved son Randall B. Buchanan and his daughter-in-law Toni. Later in life, Harold took Randy under his wing and taught him the ropes of Real Estate. Harold's family expanded in 2016 to Justin, Candice , and Brock Smith and Brayden Vinson of Canyon, Texas. Harold loved his new roll of becoming a grandpa to Brayden. He is also survived by his brother Jackie P. Buchanan of Copperhill, TN and many nephews and nieces. Harold loved to receive visitors . Even as his health changed, Harold never lost an opportunity to witness to people about Jesus Christ . You would often find Harold sipping on a cup of coffee and speaking to his friends George, Micah , Andy , Bob , Todd or his 100 year old mother-in-law Lydia. If you did not find Harold sipping on coffee at home, you would find Harold at Waffle House visiting with his friends. Thank you Hope Private Care for providing superior care to our beloved father. We would like to thank Christiania and Chaplain Donna for their love and support The family will receive friends from 5:00pm to 7:00 p.m. , Sat Oct 13 , 2018 at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta. Funeral will be held Oct. 15, 2018 at 11:00am. at Mayes Ward Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta. Services will be given by Pastor Dale Tunnel of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Interment will follow at Concord Baptist Church in Morganton, Ga.
