Howard Joseph 'Joey" DuBois

Howard Joseph DuBois, age 86, of Kennesaw, Georgia passed away peacefully on August 29, 2022, after courageously battling multiple life threatening diseases for eleven years. Howard was born in Abbeville, Louisiana, in 1936 to parents Nelson and Leona DuBois. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Clarence DuBois and Daniel DuBois, and his sisters, Melba LeBlanc and Viola Meaux. Howard joined the service when he was 18 and was stationed in Georgia. It was in Georgia that he met the love of his life Betty Sue Addison DuBois and began going by the name Joey because he thought it was cute. He didn’t know it would stick for the rest of his life. Joey and Betty were married in 1959. Joey was saved by grace at Riverdale Baptist Church in Canton, GA. A few years later he was called to preach. He pastored at many Footwashing Baptist Churches throughout North Georgia. In his professional life, he worked as a Group Sales Manager and retired after 30 years of service at Georgia International Life Insurance Company as Vice President in charge of Group Sales. He was active in the Cobb Chamber of Commerce and particularly enjoyed being Honorary Commander for two years. Howard Joseph is survived by his wife Betty Sue Addison DuBois;his children Deborah (Michael) Miller, and Fred (Lisa) Dubois. His grandchildren Krystina (Justin) Atkins, Amanda (David) Jones, Machaela (Joseph) Baker, Cody (Lauren) DuBois, Dustin (Jordyn) DuBois, Robert Baker (Caroline) Morris, Justin (Amanda) Styles, Katie (Robby) Burrell, Jordan (Zach) Heltzel, Austin Wooten. His Great Grandchildren: Augustus, Aurelia, Avonlea, Shelly Grace, Lily, Mallory, Westin, Graham, Tatum, Talan, Caden, Kennedy, Brylee, Presley, Hadleigh, Kensley, Clayton, Olivia, Gracelyn, Sutton, Saylor, Along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at Riverdale Baptist Church, 31 Riverdale Circle Canton, GA, on Wednesday August 31st at 2pm. Rev. Nathan Smith and Autry Dean will officiate. Burial will follow funeral service at Mountain View Cemetery, Whitlock Avenue, Marietta. The family will receive visitors Tuesday August 30 from 10am - 1pm and from 3pm to 8pm Serving as pallbearers: Brian Wilson, Barry Weaver, Tim Westmoreland, Cody DuBois, Dustin DuBois, Austin Wooten.
