Jane Waltz McAllister

Jane Waltz McAllister of Marietta, GA died peacefully the morning of October 17, 2012. She was born in West Point, NY to the late Ruel S. Waltz, Sr. and Hanna B. Waltz. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Michael S. McAllister, daughter Kelly M. Hess (Erik), son Brian W. McAllister (Brooke), and her 2 grandchildren Aidan and Marian Hess. Also by her sisters Maxine C. Bruce, Elizabeth W. Forney, and Ozanna B. Waltz-Allen and her brothers Ruel S. Waltz, Jr., Reginald P. Waltz, William J. Waltz, and Steven M. Waltz. She is also survived by her beloved Aunt Margalouise von Eitzen and many nieces, nephews, and cousins through out the US and Germany. Growing up as an “Army brat” and traveling the world with her family inspired in Jane a great love of travel and people, which continued after meeting her husband Michael in Augusta, GA; she especially enjoyed Paris, France. She, her husband, and her children lived in several places throughout the US before settling in Marietta, GA in 1991. Her strong faith carried her through out her life, and she became an active member of Transfiguration Catholic Church. Her compassion was immeasurable. She also loved listening to music, in particular The Doors and The Beatles. After retiring from many years at AT&T, Jane was fortunate to move into a fulfilling career with Cobb County Government. There she made many new friends while contributing to the overall success of the Government of Cobb County. Jane was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, as well as a friend to many. Her gentle spirit and warm, loving nature, eternal support, and talented story telling will be missed by all. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The National Brain Tumor Society.
