Janelle Arnold, 85, of Powder Springs passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 in Austell, GA. A Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at 3:00 PM at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Macland Chapel in Powder Springs with Minister Bob Lamb & Pastor Andy Daniell officiating. Janelle will be laid to rest with her husband James “Buddy” Arnold at Georgia National Cemetery on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at 10:00 AM. Janelle is survived by her sons, Tom Arnold & wife Terri of Dallas, Ga & Scott Arnold of Powder Springs, GA; daughters, Jan Stephenson & husband Bobby of Villa Rica, GA & Christi Arnold of Lithia Springs, GA; sisters, Barbara McEachern of Jackson, GA & Ginger Moore & husband Don of Douglasville, GA; eleven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, & several nieces & nephews. She is preceded in death by her loving husband James “Buddy” Arnold; son, James Autry Arnold; sister, Jean Fowler; & brothers-in-law, Vernon Fowler & Jack McEachern. Janelle was born on Saturday, November 21, 1936 to Thomas & Beatrice Benton in Atlanta, GA. She married the love of her life, James Arnold in 1955 and they had 59 wonderful years together. Janelle worked for 40 years as the church secretary for the First Christian Church of Mableton where she and Jim worshiped since 1974. Janelle enjoyed being outside gardening and watching the birds, but most of all she loved being MeMaw to the many children that entered her life over the years. Janelle was always able to find the good in everyone, no matter what the circumstances were, she knew there was good in us all. She was a kind and gentle woman who never had a bad word to say about anyone. Janelle was a loving, friend, wife, mother, & grandmother and her beautiful presence will be forever missed. There will be two visitations held, the first will be Tuesday, December 7, 2021, between the hours of 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM and the second will be held on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Macland Chapel.
