Janey "Jane" Mae Jones

Jane Jones walked joyfully into the comforting arms of her Heavenly Father Saturday, November 5, 2022, after a valiant 5-year fight against cancer. Born September 16, 1980, Jane’s legacies and greatest loves include her cherished husband Evan and children Hudson, Wyatt, Hazel, and Walker. Jane lived for her family and devoted her life to them. Whether helping Evan run their business, homeschooling her children for many years, or snuggling up next to them as she recovered from treatment, every ounce of her was spent in joyful love and service to them. She volunteered her time at their schools, proudly watched them on sports fields, and prayed for them unceasingly. Jane shined brightly at the beach, soaking in their smiles and laughs as they splashed and played. She sat in awe of Evan and how he faithfully led their family through sickness and health with deep, steadfast love. Jane was an old soul, a thinker, and ponderer. She was a boo-boo kisser, a hand holder, a cheerleader, and an encourager. She was an eternal optimist, a giver, a lover of her people and their people. But more than anything, Jane was a believer. She believed in the hope of Jesus Christ and held firm to Him in her darkest hours. She believed in the supernatural comfort that will sustain Evan, Hudson, Wyatt, Hazel, and Walker. She believed that while she fought until her last breath to stay in this life, her truest joy and forever peace would be in the next. Jane was a good and faithful servant. Her tremendous gifts of faith, service and undying love live on in Hudson’s smile, in Wyatt’s sense of humor, in Hazel’s joy, and in Walker’s boundless energy. She was cared for so very well during her illness by many. In a special way, her community group from North Metro Church came alongside her and Evan and became the hands and feet of Jesus to them. Their wonderful neighbors, work friends, and the families of their children’s friends filled in gaps and sustained them with food, childcare, and their constant prayer. Jane was loved well and loved well. She was prayed for and was a devoted prayer warrior. She humbly received acts of service and, even mere weeks ago, while enduring much, continued to live a life of service. A true celebration of her well-lived, beautiful life will be Friday, November 11, at North Metro Church. A visitation will be held at Mayes-Ward- Dobbins Historic Marietta location Thursday, November 10, from 5-7 pm.
