Julie Lawson

On Saturday, August 4, 2018, Julie Lawson left this earth to join the Lord. Although Julie was only on this earth for 38 years, she left an impact that far out-weighs her time here. As a mother, Julie set the bar and elevated what it meant to love unconditionally. She cared for her son as if she knew her time here was limited and saturated his heart with her love and his soul with her essence. As a wife, Julie was a true life partner and always prioritized exploring life and making memories with her husband, and again as if she knew her time here was limited, she made some of the greatest memories with him towards the end of her life. In addition to her role as a mother and wife, Julie was also an amazing daughter, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend. She enriched the lives of everyone she was around and helped make memories that will be carried on for generations. Beyond her commitment to her family, Julie was also committed to her profession as an elementary school teacher. Unlike many, teaching was not just a job for Julie; it was a true part of her identity. Her compassion and generosity in the classroom was unparalleled. For those that were fortunate enough to be a student in Julie’s class, you never went without and always received the specialized attention you needed. Julie’s legacy will be carried on for lifetimes as a result of the impact she made to hundreds of children. In her passing, Julie leaves behind her husband and son, Josh Lawson and Owen Lawson, her father, Greg Quick, her father and mother-in-law, Jim Lawson and Peggie Lawson, her brother and sister-in-law, Craig Lawson and Noel Lawson, her nephew and nieces, Brady Lawson, Molly Lawson, Haley Lawson, and Emma Haney, and her cousin, Andy Meadows. Julie was a true light in this world and she will be dearly missed by all that were fortunate enough to know her. Thankfully, she is now in heaven watching over all of us, and for that, our lives will be enriched even more. In line with Julie’s passion, and in lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at Julie’s school that will be used to continue to benefit the children she cared for so dearly.
