Kathryn Lee Remmele

Kathryn Lee Remmele, loving wife, devoted mother of two, and dedicated career customer service professional, passed away on April 24, 2025. Kathryn was born in Boston, MA on April 1, 1960. As a young girl Kathryn lived in Cohasset, MA, a seaside town, just north of Boston. Her family moved to Derby, CT, where Kathryn attended Derby High School and began her career in customer service. Kathryn was employed by Laticrete International, Inc. in Bethany, CT, and rose to the position of Customer Service Manager. She met her husband at Laticrete and lived in Cheshire, CT, where Kathryn and her husband had their first-born son. As her husband’s career changed, the family would live in Rutland, VT and eventually relocate to the Atlanta, GA area, where they settled for 35 years. Kathryn continued her career as Customer Service Manager at Rhodes Furniture in Powder Springs, GA. After a second son was born, Kathryn paused her career. Under Kathryn’s guidance, the children excelled academically, and eventually graduated from Georgia Tech and UGA, respectfully. Kathryn returned to the work force with a new passion for health care. She gained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Care Administration from Charter Oak College in Hartford, CT and worked in administrative health care positions as an advocate for customers. She also took interest in local history and was a regular volunteer at the Root House in Marietta, GA. Kathryn’s career and volunteer work were tragically cut short by the onset of colon cancer in June, 2023, which eventually took her life. Kathryn is survived by her husband of 40 years, Thomas Remmele of Marietta, GA, her sons, Matthew Remmele of Smyrna, GA and Joshua Remmele of Washington, D.C., her brother and sister-in-law, Christopher and Linda Sura of Beacon Falls, CT, and her mother, Elizabeth Krantzberg, of Southbury, CT, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Kathryn was the leader of her family, the guiding light, a source of strength, wisdom, and benevolence for her husband and sons. Kathryn’s kindness, caring, thoughtfulness, and dedication to and love of family will forever last in our souls.
