Lila Moss McArthur

Lila Moss McArthur was born on October 26, 1925 to Robert Emory Moss and Esther Nancy Malinda Grogan Moss in Cherokee County, Georgia. She has one sister, Christine Runelle Moss Waldrop. Lila married Henry Willis McArthur on May 21, 1941. Their marriage lasted 57 years until his death on Christmas Day, 1999. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother as well as a wonderful sister, aunt and cousin to a large extended family. Lila had a relationship with God through the Lord Jesus Christ and lived to serve Him and others. She stood on high moral principles and taught them to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lila was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church in Marietta, Georgia. After moving to Texas she was a member of Houston Northwest Baptist Church in Houston for many years. She was a member of Kingsland Baptist Church from late1998 until her death. Her mother, father and husband preceded her in death. Loving family members who remain are her sister, Runelle, and children, Marvin McArthur of Woodstock, Georgia, Diane Flowers and husband, Don, of Richmond, Texas, 5 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, many cousins. Marvin has two sons, Alan McArthur and his children, Christopher, Douglas, Caroline, Owen and Maurie Paige, and Michael McArthur and his son, Preston. Diane and her husband, Don Flowers, have three daughters, Jennifer Brian and her husband, Jason, children Mackenzie, Carson, and Karys, Jill Guerrero and her husband, Aaron, children Luke and Jake, Nancy Mullins and her husband, Jeff, children Briana and Logan. Visitation will be Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta, Georgia from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Funeral service will be Monday, December 22, 2014 in the Chapel of Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta at 1:00 p.m. The Reverend Alex Kennedy of Matthews, North Carolina will officiate. Music will be provided by Rev. Dan and Beth St. Andre of Clarkesville, Georgia.
