Lillian Flowers

Martha Lillian Baxter Flowers was born on May 31, 1923 to Cora Mae Morgan Baxter and Charles Washington Baxter in Dallas, Georgia. She had two brothers, the late Charles W. Baxter, and the late Thomas Guy Baxter and one sister, the late Mary Rachael (Baxter) Cantrell. Lillian married Robert Eugene Flowers on June 22, 1940. Their marriage lasted 49 ½ years until his death on October 23, 1989. She was employed at Nu-Way Cleaners and Laundry for 43 years. Lillian was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and a caring sister to her siblings. She loved her church in Marietta, Crestview Baptist, now GracePointe Baptist and her church family. After her illness while visiting family in Texas in October, 2009, Rambling Oaks Nursing Home in Highland Village, Texas became her residence where she attended services every Sunday. Loving family members who remain are her children, Jerry Flowers and wife, Marge, of Denton, Texas, Don Flowers and wife, Diane, of Richmond, Texas, and Patsy Chaney and husband, Ralph, of Bartlett, Tennessee. She leaves 9 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jerry and wife, Marge, have 3 daughters, Sharon and husband, Jose Machado, children Sabrina and Matthew, Tracy Granzin and son, Nolan, and Shelley and husband, Tim Rohlik, children Isabella and Marissa, and 1 son, Randy and wife Carla Flowers, children Nathan and Amber, and grandchild Rylee. Don and wife, Diane, have 3 daughters, Jennifer and husband, Jason Brian, children Mackenzie, Carson and Karys, Jill and husband, Aaron Guerrero, children Luke and Jake, Nancy and husband, Jeff Mullins, children Briana and Logan. Patsy and husband, Ralph Chaney, children Kimberly and Travis. In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations made to GracePointe Baptist Church, 505 Atlanta Street, SE, Marietta, Georgia 30060. Visitation will be Saturday, February 21, 2015, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta, Georgia. Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will be at Mountain View Park Cemetery in Marietta, Georgia. The Reverend Mike Faulkner will officiate.
