Linda Craig, 74, of Acworth, GA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, in Marietta, GA. A Funeral Service will be held in her honor on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Macland Chapel with Pastor Aram Mushegan officiating. She will be laid to rest at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA at 2:00 PM following the funeral service. The Craig family will receive visitors on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 between the hours of 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Macland Chapel in Powder Springs, GA. . Linda had a love of flowers and therefore any flower arrangements sent on her behalf are greatly appreciated. Linda is survived by her loving husband, Joe Craig of Acworth, GA; daughters, Heather Kiger & husband Kevin of Kennesaw, GA. and Sally Harris & husband Gavin of Dallas, GA; brother, Bobby Warthen & wife Stella of Smyrna, GA; sister-in-law, Joann Warthen of Smyrna, GA; granddaughters, Savannah Kiger of Kennesaw, GA, Gracie Harris of Dallas, GA, and Kara Harris of Dallas, GA; grandson, Kevin Kiger, Jr. of Kennesaw, GA; and many nieces and nephews; and wonderful friends. Linda Warthen Craig was born Saturday, March 20, 1948, in Atlanta, GA to Rush & Sallie Warthen. She married the love of her life and best friend Joe Craig on Tuesday, September 17, 1968. They had two daughters, Heather & Sally whom she chose to stay home and raise. Some years later Linda worked at Smyrna Christian Academy while her girls attended school there. Once the girls were older, she went to work at Downs & Colquitt Tax Attorneys for several years. She made wonderful life long friends at both work locations. Linda was a true southern lady, she enjoyed spending time on the beach, shopping, being with her family, decorating her home for all of the holidays, cooking and baking, or just sitting on the back porch watching the hummingbirds. Linda also enjoyed spending time with the friends she had since high school. Joe said reconnecting with her high school friends really made her happy. Nothing made Linda happier however, than spending time with her grandchildren. She was the best Memaw anyone could ask for and her grandchildren always referred to Joe & Linda’s home as their favorite place to be. Linda’s kind and loving nature will be forever missed by all.
