Lola Rosetta Kendall Reece

Mrs. Lola Rosetta Kendall Reece went home to her Heavenly Father on Monday, September 21, 2009. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at Elizabeth Baptist Church in Marietta with the Rev. Dr. Steve Echols and Rev. Tommy Lockhart officiating. The body will be at the church at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery in Marietta. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Grady Reece Sr. and granddaughter, Connie Lynn Reece. Lola was born on February 19, 1912 in Fannin County. She spent most of her adult life in the Marietta area where she was the loving mother and grandmother to two sons, Grady Reece, Jr. & his wife, Linda; Billy Reece & his wife, Joyce; four grandchildren: Kim Cox, Scott Cox, Christy Cox Langston and Terri Reece Miramonti. She was extremely proud of her 8 great grandchildren who will miss her dearly: Rachel, Drew and Kevin Langston; Jordan, Austin and Madison Miramonti; and Sydney and Nicole Doge. She is survived by her sister, Willie Nell "Bill" Deal and her sister in law, Clara Ragsdale and several nieces & nephews. Lola was an active and oldest member of Elizabeth Baptist Church and enjoyed the senior ministries of Shady Grove Baptist, East Side United Methodist, Mount Calvary Baptist, former, Roselane Baptist and Maple Avenue United Methodist. Lola, affectionately known as Nannie not only to her grandchildren but countless others whose lives she touched was the greatest example of Christ's love. Her strong personal faith was an inspiration to all who knew her. She was loving, kind and generous but most of all, she was full of joy and happiness. She was always a source of comfort and hope in every situation. She was a wonderful cook and known for her outstanding fried pies. Her zest for life and victory in death will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
