Loretta M. Mazur, 85, of Marietta, GA. Passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Sunday, October 9, 2022. A Funeral Service will be held in her honor on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at 2:00 PM at The Catholic Church of St. Ann in Marietta, GA with Rev. John Gabriel officiating. She will be interred at Green Lawn Cemetery immediately following the service. Family has asked in lieu of flowers that donations be made in Loretta’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at https://www.stjude.org/ or to The Catholic Church of St. Ann at 4905 Roswell Road Marietta, Georgia 30062 Loretta is survived by her daughter, Julie Seiple & husband Jeffrey of Marietta, GA; son, Brendan Mazur & wife Ginger of Amelia Island, FL; sister, Joan O’Connor of Woodstock, GA; granddaughters, Brooke Plesner & husband Cody of Fort Worth, TX and Heather Mazur of Savannah, GA; nieces, Meaghan O’Connor of Fort Lauderdale, FL. & Kara Yarbough of Marietta, GA; daughter-in-law, Suzanne Mazur of Marietta, GA. She was preceded in death by her son, Karl Mazur. Loretta Marie Mazur was born Thursday, June 17, 1937, in Pittsburgh, PA to Joseph & Loretta Neary. She attended Mount Mercy University in Pittsburg, PA. Loretta worked in medical management for Matria of Marietta for 25 years and then worked for WellStar Health Systems for 10 years until retiring. Loretta had a close personal relationship with God. She worshipped at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marietta for 20 years until she moved in with her daughter and then she worshipped at The Catholic Church of St. Ann for the last 10 years. Loretta was a devote catholic and truly lived her faith. Community was important to Loretta. She made a home for herself in Hickory Walk of Marietta and served many years on the homeowner’s association, even serving as President at one time. Her neighborhood and her neighbors were particularly important to her. She spent a lot of time hosting and entertaining events for Hickory Walk as well as leading up projects to make the community a better place for everyone. Loretta was a woman of great internal strength. No matter the task or roadblock she encountered she faced them head on with great fortitude. The most important thing to Loretta was her family. She always worked hard to provide for them and to be the best influence on her children and grandchildren she could. She was a loving and caring mother & grandmother. Her presence will be forever missed. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, between the hours of 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Marietta Chapel.
