Luella Terebecki

Mrs. Luella Davis Terebecki, 89, of Marietta, departed this life on Friday morning, April 22, 2016, surrounded by loved ones. Lu was born November 8, 1926, in Stephens County; she was one of eleven children of the late Robert Keifer and Willie Mae Flynn Davis. Before marriage Lu traveled with several of her sisters from New York to Miami working. After meeting her husband, John Terebecki, and having their three children, Terry, Nick & Johnnie, the couple settled in to life in Cobb County so John could begin work at Lockheed. As her children started school, Lu began work on the Cobb County Public Library’s bookmobile. When the main branch moved to the Marietta Square, Lu took a full time position. She retired after 27 years as their Financial Officer. Lu was a loving wife to her husband, she was a caring mother to her children and a wonderful grandmother to all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lu never met a stranger and always had a kind word for those around her. Lu loved to gather and cook for her family, whether a week night dinner or a special occasion no one would walk away hungry. Lu was proceed in death by her husband of 46 years, John Terebecki. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Terry & Helen Terebecki of Cleveland GA; son and daughter-in-law, Nick & Holly Terebecki of Albany, GA; and daughter and son-in-law, Johnnie & Kevin Solomon of Acworth GA. Lu is also survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; John, Lauren & Jack Terebecki, Anastasia, Vince & Cody Rogers, Stephen Terebecki, Allison & Chris Lodge and Nancy, Cameron & Parker Smith. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Keifer & Bill Long of Toccoa. Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Luella Davis Terebecki will be Monday, April 25th at 4 pm at the chapel at Mays Ward Funeral Home in Marietta with the Rev. Elata Dowdy officiating. Interment will be at the Andersonville National Cemetery in Andersonville, GA. Her sons and grandsons will be pallbearers. The family will receive friends Monday April 25th at 3pm at the funeral home.
