Marilyn Elizabeth Webster

Our sweet angel Marilyn Elizabeth Webster, 69, of Kennesaw, Georgia was called home to be with her heavenly Father on Monday, February 10, 2020. She passed peacefully at her home and was surrounded by all of her children, grandchildren and her guard dog Dakota. She was born January 22nd, 1951 to her parents John and Ruth Downey in Niagara Falls, NY. She is preceded in death by her father, John. She lived in Niagara Falls, Detroit, Colorado and Georgia. She wore many hats over the years including being a nurses assistant and teachers assistant. She served Mount Paran North Church of God as an execute administrative assistant for almost 25 years as well as being a hope minister. She was a cherished member of the community. She loved and cherished her job and her work family. Her favorite hat to wear though was being a mother to her four children (Stephen, Tina, Faith and Ryli) and a grandmother to her two grandchildren (Jacqueline and Casey). She lived a life full of love and grace and even though she lost her 14 month battle with ovarian cancer she never lost her faith, hope, love for God and her ability to love. She had charisma, grace, and the ability to show her love with just her smile. Even after all of her treatments and surgeries she never asked why me, she merely said if one person can come to the Lord through my journey then it was all worth it. She was truly an angel on earth. She was a faithful servant of God and loved her family, the beach, music, cooking, dancing and getting her steps in. She never did make it back to the beach one more time but she did enjoy her last trip to Cape Cod over the summer where she enjoyed a sailing cruise at sunset (which is the picture here). One of her last moments was enjoying the snowfall on Saturday here in Georgia and she stated that it would be her last but that she would have a better view. Yes sweet angel we know you are dancing, singing and viewing all of the best sunrises and sunsets now free of pain. Marilyn is survived by her children, Stephen F. Webster, Tina Smith and husband, Judd, Faith Anne Webster, Ryli Webster and wife, Kayla Erickson; mother, Ruth Downey; grandchildren, Jacqueline Smith and Juddson Casey; siblings, Michael Downey, Maureen Webster, John Downey, Kathleen Downey, Kevin Downey, Donna Ciszek and her fur-grandchildren, Dakota and Arnald. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. She was preceded in death by her father, John Downey. Marilyn’s friendly smile, warm kindness, generosity, and positivity will be greatly missed. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 15th at Mount Paran North Church of God. Please wear bright colors for her celebration, her favorite colors were purple and blue. A reception will follow the service where the family will receive guests. In lieu of flowers, and in honor of Marilyn’s courageous battle with ovarian cancer, the family requests that donations be made to Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, OCRAHOPE.org and the Georgia Ovarian Cancer Alliance, OCRF.org
