Miriam Elizabeth Trotter

Miriam Elizabeth Wadsworth Trotter, age 87, of Dallas, Georgia passed from this life to her eternal home in Heaven on her 87th birthday, January 14, 2025. Miriam was born on January 14, 1938, in Cullman, Alabama to the late Rev. Grady D. Wadsworth and Flora P. Brown Wadsworth. She was the fifth daughter of eight girls born to her parents. She grew up in Rome, Ga. attending Possum Trot Elementary School located on Berry College campus, Coosa High School, and Johnson High School before meeting the love of her life, Thomas (AKA Sonny) Trotter, also from Rome, Ga., whom she married at the age of seventeen and was married for sixty-seven years before he passed in 2023. Miriam and Sonny had one daughter, Linda Trotter Rollins. Miriam possessed several artistic skills and talents including drawing and painting, sewing, floral arrangements, and decorating. She loved to draw farm and mountain sceneries. She was extremely organized and an excellent homemaker. Her family always said you could, "eat off of her floors they're so clean." One of her most favorite things in life was traveling and camping with her husband. She leaves behind dozens of photos from their travels. She loved to sing old Gospel Hymns that she learned as a child, and she sang in the choir and solos at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Marietta, Ga. where she and her husband were members. She also taught junior Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. She was a beautiful, loving, and multi-talented lady with a beautiful, warm and friendly smile. Miriam is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, David Wadsworth; sisters, Doris Hilley, Estella Salmon, and Sarah Wadsworth, and her husband, Tommy. She is survived by her only daughter, Linda (Richard) Rollins; three granddaughters, Wendy (Donny) Portwood, Stacy Dyer, and Kristy (Corey) Gordon; eight great grandchildren, Andrew (Kelsey), Matthew (Elly), Caleb (Skye), Alexis, Emily, CJ, and Alicia (Keever), and Erin; great-great grandchildren, Oaklyn, Dansby, Tate and Harrison; sisters, Rachel Tyson, Irona Taylor, Norma Kinnick, and Renee Davis along with several nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 15th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Mayes Ward Dobbins Funeral Home, Powder Springs Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday, January 16th at 11:00 AM with her son-in-law, Rev. Richard Rollins officiating. A private family interment will be held. The family would like to give their utmost thanks and appreciation to the staff and caregivers at Manor Lake Assisted Living and Memory Care Hiram, Ga and to Trinity Hospice Care for their faithful years of service, caring for, and love shown for Miss Miriam.
