Patsy Ruth Dunn

Patsy Ruth Dunn, 91, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 14, 2023. Her burial will be held at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA on November 3, 2023 at 12:30 p.m. Patsy was born in Montgomery, Alabama on April 20, 1932 to the late Mary Lou and Benjamin Franklin Alford. In addition to her parents, Patsy is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward Luther Dunn, and her beloved sons, Randall Todd Dunn and Edward Daniel Dunn. Patsy is also preceded in death by her 3 siblings, Bill, Charles, and Joey Alford. Patsy is survived by her children, Michael Scott Dunn, Pamela Gayle Dunn-Beckum, David Franklin Dunn, and 14 grandchildren including Jennifer Lynn Wade, Christopher Scott Dunn, Lauren Ashley Lee, Taylor Chadwick Beckum, Linley Faith Dunn, Anastasia Hope Dunn, Heather Dunn-Thompson, Julie Dunn, Greg Dunn, Ryan Klos-Dunn, Christian Klos-Dunn, Allyson Dunn, and Kylee Dunn. Her great grandchildren include Camren Fambrough, Faith Burns, Brooklyn Dunn, Kathryn Dunn, Logann Wade, Paislee Thompson, Dean Thompson, Sam Thompson, Charlie Lee, Evie Lee. Patsy's great-great children include Weston Fambrough and Walker Fambrough. In her youth, Patsy grew up in Fairhope, Alabama and after high school she joined the Navy in February 1952 serving 3 years. She married Edward Luther Dunn on October 3, 1953. Patsy and Edward were stationed in many locations across the United States but eventually moved to Mableton, GA in 1967 after Edward's 29-year military service. Patsy and Edward raised all five of their children in Mableton, GA while becoming grandparents to 14 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. During this period, Patsy became a dedicated member of the Mableton First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and sang in the church choir. She was employed at Cobb and Lester Inc. as an office manager for over a decade and in her spare time she loved to bowl in local leagues at Bankhead Lanes. Patsy lived in Mableton, GA until the death of her husband in 2006. She then moved to Woodstock, GA and became an active member at New Victoria Baptist Church. She resided in Woodstock until her death. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Edward Luther Dunn, at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA. Donations may be made in loving memory of Patsy Dunn to the New Victoria Baptist Church 6659 Bells Ferry Rd, Woodstock, GA 30189. Patsy will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and spiritual leader among her family and friends. May you rest in peace Patsy.
