Stephanie Noelle Collins

Stephanie Noelle Collins, daughter of Forrest and Ann Collins, passed away Sunday, July 11, 2010. She is survived by her parents; Ann and Forrest Collins; two sisters and brother-in-law, Renee Collins Amandolia, Glenna Collins Sikanowicz and Dr. Dave Sikanowicz; and her beloved nephew and niece, Drew and Emily Amandolia. A life-long resident of Marietta, GA., Stephanie graduated from Lassiter High School in 1989 where she was a member of the marching band. After graduation, she proudly served in the United States Air Force as an Airman First Class and worked in the Command Center in Okinawa, Japan during Desert Storm. Upon her Honorable Discharge, Stephanie continued her service to the country in the Army National Reserves and received a degree in Criminal Justice from Reinhardt College. In addition to working in the medical field, Stephanie was a talented writer of poetry. Stephanie had a big heart and was involved with many worthy causes. She was a volunteer for the Special Olympics, she championed for disabled veterans and was a member of the Patriot Guard Riders. Stephanie was passionate about animals, especially her dogs Tater, Jasmine and Macy, and was a foster parent for homeless dogs. Stephanie leaves behind a legacy of love for her family and friends. A full military service will be held graveside at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 16, 2010 at Georgia National Cemetery, 2025 Mount Caramel Church Lane, Canton, GA 30114. A smile is a hug without physical contact to stretch to a heart in need. A smile is a sign that says “Speak your heart, for mine will listen patiently.” My smile given to you, my friend, is my way of saying “I am here, always, for your troubles and pains.” Yet I am also here for those times that are good. My smile is a welcome mat to my heart and soul. My smile is yours to keep everywhere you go.
