With sadden hearts we announce the passing of the well-known and beloved, Stephen James Posta age 55, owner/ stylist of Salon Posta in Marietta, Georgia. Stephen passed away peacefully on July 29, 2023, surrounded by close family, and loved ones after a courageous battle of 13 years with cancer. Born March 19, 1968, in Yonkers, New York to Stephen John Posta and Judith Ann Cohen. As a child he was raised in Wappingers Falls, New York. Stephen was an avid BMX bike racer growing up, which he did with his siblings and parents for many years. Stephen was a graduate of Roy C. Ketcham High School. Stephen was a strong, optimistic, loving man with a heart of gold, and he would do anything to help others. He had an extraordinary gift of making family, friends and colleagues feel loved and cherished. Stephen's love for life shined bright, he never stopped challenging himself and others around him as a mentor and friend. He lived his life to the fullest and touched so many people during his time here with us. Whether just simple advice, an empathetic ear, or a shoulder to lean on, he was a friend you could count on. He was a guiding light for those fortunate enough to know him. Stephen was a beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend whose loving heart was felt by all of those who were around him. He was a model of devotion and touched so many in his short life here on earth. He was an advocate for those in need even when he was battling his own illness. Stephen is survived by his mother Judith and stepfather Harold of NY, his sister Audra and brother-in-law Vinnie of FL, his brother Daniel and sister-in-law Dawn of NY, his sister Susan and brother-in-law John of NY. Significant other Stacie and her two children Anderson Jane and Asa McAllister of GA. His nieces and nephews, Jessica Lynn, Daniel Christopher, Daniel John Jr., Angela Marie, Nova Rose, Peyton Rose, Kiernan James and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Stephen is preceded in death by his father, Stephen John Posta. Stephen also leaves behind his four faithful and loving dogs Jersey, Gilbert, Montana, and Randall. They meant the world to Stephen. They were his children and he loved them all so very much. They will surely miss their dad. To his motorcycle riding brothers, he loved you all beyond words. Ride on and carry Stephen in your hearts always because that is where he would love to be. Heaven has gained an angel, but we all have gained a guardian angel, who will be looking over each one of us that Stephen has touched. Live on eternally Sky Warrior. Celebration of Stephen’s life will be held on Sunday August 20, 2023, 4-6pm @ Glover Park Brewery, 65 Atlanta St SE, Marietta GA 30060 (EVENT SPACE UPSTAIRS).
